3 Summer Shows to Catch at the Seneca Queen Theatre

sotfblog1While the impressive falls are obviously the main attraction in Niagara, families and couples have many more activities and things to do in the area that they might not be aware of. Exquisite dining, nightlife, hiking, and kid-focused activities all make the list, but some visitors might not realize that Niagara also offers a number of shows and concerts, especially in the high season.

The Seneca Queen Theatre, located at the Seneca Niagara Resort and Casino, is a recently remodeled theatre that features a number of local and international touring acts and plays and is a great way to spend an evening during your visit to Niagara.

This summer the Seneca Queen Theatre is hosting some of its most exciting performances, and these are just three of the shows that you won’t want to miss on your trip to Niagara Falls.

Grease Sing-Along-A

For anyone who’s a fan of the classic film “Grease,” this fun, exciting, and interactive stage show will have you transported back to the 1950s and the familiar students at Rydell High School. This is a 100 percent immersive experience, so be prepared to dance and sing along with Danny and Sandy and the rest of the T-Birds and the Pink Ladies.

This is truly a family friendly performance so even if your kids aren’t familiar with Grease they’re sure to enjoy the singing and dancing, but they’ll likely have a better time watching their parents. The performance takes place on Thursday, June 30 and starts at 9:00 p.m. Ticket prices are $15 plus fees.

sotfblog2Southern Fried: A Tribute to the Legends of Southern Rock

There aren’t many people who don’t know the lyrics to “Sweet Home Alabama” and if you’re one of those people you shouldn’t miss Southern Fried: A Tribute to Southern Rock Legends. Held on Saturday, July 18 at 8 p.m., this rock and roll extravaganza will have you singing and dancing, and you may have to suppress your urge to hold a lighter aloft.

Featuring the hits by classic rock bands such as Lynyrd Skynyrd, the Allman Brothers, and more, this is a show that definitely brings on the nostalgia and is one of the most popular shows in the region. Tickets are $19.75 plus fees, and you’ll want to get yours early to ensure they don’t sell out. This performance takes place on Saturday, July 16 at 8 p.m.

The Northern Pikes

One of Canada’s most popular and beloved bands, and members of the Western Canadian Music Hall of Fame, The Northern Pikes have been performing their unique brand of rock and roll since their inception in 1984. Since then they’re still going strong and consistently sell out venues during each and every tour season, and have garnered thousands of fans of all ages.

You can catch them at the Seneca Queen Theatre on Friday, July 15 at 8:00 p.m. and tickets are $27.25 plus fees.

Whether it’s rock, country, or international music, the Seneca Queen Theatre offers up shows to suit anyone and genuinely one of the region’s most popular places to get your live music fix. Keep an eye on their website to be sure you don’t miss your favorite act while you visit Niagara Falls.
